Hadada Ibis

This is a hadada ibis, on the roof next to our deck. I find these birds very exotic, but they are fairly common here. They like to perch up high, in the tops of trees, or sometimes on the lamp posts in the yard across the creek. This is the only time I’ve seen one on our roof.

You can hear them from quite a ways away. This is what they sound like (the calls are only in the first ten seconds of the audio):
